Consortium adviser and leadership consultants
Thank you for your applications for these positions. We will contact you with the outcomes shortly.
Leaders and managers of 14-19 consortia everywhere are facing the challenges of working together in new ways to implement Diplomas collaboratively. The Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) and NCSL can support you in this by providing a far-reaching and flexible programme of support. This programme has evolved from our offer of support to Gateway 1 consortia and has been further refined in line with feedback from Gateway 2.
At the heart of our service is a consortium adviser, whose role is to help you to explore your readiness for Diploma implementation, identify areas for consortium development, and introduce you to aspects of our programme - and the support that is offered - by a range of workforce partners who can help you as you work towards successful Diploma implementation. Consortia delivering Diplomas from September 2009 will be familiar with the role of the consortium leadership consultant. Consortium adviser is the new name for this enhanced role. For those who are new, your consortium adviser will be in touch by personal letter soon. Find out more about the consortium adviser role.
We hope that those of you in Gateway 2 have met and worked with your consortium leadership consultant (CLC). Your CLC will continue, as a consortium adviser, to support you as you work towards implementation in September 2009.
If you are a Gateway 2 consortium lead, you can view a list of consortium adviser contact details
(380kb, 25 pages).
From mid-May to the end of June, the summer round of consortium support conversations will be held between you, your consortium adviser and, if possible, a local authority representative. The conversation will cover your support needs across the range of aspects of Diploma implementation and workforce groups, not just leadership and management.
To help you prepare for your consortium support conversation, please view the new briefing
(56kb, 2 pages).
For those of you who started to deliver Diplomas in September 2008, you can continue to access support throughout the coming year.
The support available in 2009-10, to prepare for implementing Diplomas from 2010, is presented in the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) publication, Consortium Support Guide
(412kb, 44 pages). A summary of LSIS/NCSL services for leaders and managers will be available soon.
