Benefits of working for NCSL

Our employees enjoy excellent conditions of service. We believe in investing in our employees and can offer you training and development opportunities at every stage of your career with us at NCSL.

Values charter

We know that the way that we work - the behaviours and attitudes that we bring to the job - impact on our ability as an organisation to achieve our goals. As an organisation we adhere to a values charter that aims to make the College an empowering and inspirational place to work.

Annual leave

We offer our employees 30 days' holiday a year (pro rata for part-time staff), excluding public and bank holidays

Performance-related pay scheme

We recognise and reward success through a performance-related pay scheme.

Flexible working

We've adopted a number of flexible working practices to enable employees to balance family responsibilities and work. Where possible, we also accommodate requests for job sharing.

Pension scheme

You will be able to join, or continue with, the Local Government Pension Scheme, contributing a defined percentage of your salary. Nottinghamshire County Council acts as scheme administrators.

Childcare vouchers

We offer our employees the chance to buy childcare vouchers. These are non-taxable and are exempt from National Insurance contributions. Eligible parents with children under 16 years old are entitled to childcare vouchers. They can be used to pay for day nurseries, childminders, and before and after school clubs, for school-aged children.

Employee assistance programme

An employee assistance programme is available for employees and their immediate families.

The programme is a free and confidential, telephone-based service for you to use should you ever need expert, impartial counselling to deal with a variety of issues. The advisors can assist on many areas.
