We never stop learning.
Our continuing success depends upon the knowledge and ability of our people. That's why if you join us, you'll find we're committed to training and developing you throughout your career.
To support this commitment, we have a structured appraisal and training programme. In addition, we actively encourage staff to study for relevant professional qualifications.
We believe that regular appraisals are essential. They're the most effective way of giving you an idea of your relative progress and success in your role. As well as developing talents and abilities to the full, they also allow us to set clearly identified goals, training needs and career progression for you.
Wherever possible, we promote from within to encourage employees to advance and develop their careers and skills.
However, we also place great emphasis on getting the work/life balance right. We've adopted a number of flexible working practices to enable you to balance your family responsibilities and your professional career.
The skills pledge is a voluntary, public commitment by the leadership of a company or organisation to support all of its employees in developing their basic skills, including literacy and numeracy, and working towards relevant, valuable qualifications to at least Level 2. The purpose is to ensure that all employees are skilled, competent and able to contribute to the success of the organisation.
On behalf of The National College for School Leadership, I, as Chief Executive, make a commitment that we shall:
