
Toby is responsible for NCSL's Primary and Secondary Strategic Initiatives; E-learning including NCSL's online communities; Stakeholders and School Networks; and Marketing and Communications.
He was formerly the executive head of a federation of two West Sussex schools. For the last three and a half years he has also been a director at the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) Innovation Unit.
Toby is a founder member of the governing council of NCSL and an invited representative on a range of Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) reference/working groups. He is also a governor of Chichester College and a member of a number of educational and national policy think tanks. Toby has held a variety of school and community leadership roles over the past 20 years. He has worked across the age phases and in a wide range of mainstream and specialist educational settings. He has a BEd (Hons) as well as a Masters in Education.
