New Heads Conference 2006

15-16 November 2006, QEII Conference Centre, London

new heads 2006

NCSL's National New Heads Conference continues to provide a unique occasion for newly-appointed headteachers to come together and be welcomed to their roles by senior educational policymakers and practitioners. It's an opportunity for those heads to share in discussion and debate about the issues that are important to them and gain ideas, insights and inspiration to help them bring their own thinking and actions into their schools.

Conference speakers for 2006 included Alan Johnson MP, Secretary of State for Education and Skills and Greg Dyke, former Director General of the BBC. Some 700 new headteachers attended.

Feedback from last year's New Heads Conference:

It was wonderful to meet fellow heads to discuss what we've heard and reflect on how it will change our leadership in the future.
