The London Leadership Strategy is a strand of the City Challenge initiative. It focuses on the development needs of school leaders and on the expansion of all aspects of leadership capacity in London schools. The strategy affords leaders in London the opportunity to build leadership capacity at every level within their school and to work in close collaboration with other schools. Although the strategy is run by NCSL , the majority of its programmes are delivered by external organisations, including the Institute of Education, Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT), Centre for British Teachers Education Trust (CfBT) and Hay Group.
(296kb, 2 pages) (100kb, 2 pages): a development programme to prepare aspiring black and minority ethnic London leaders for higher level leadership roles within education (95kb, 2 pages): enhances participants' command of the research, theory and techniques underlying training and consultancy (176kb, 1 page) (1Mb, 2 pages): open to new middle managers, particularly overseas-trained or newly qualified teachers, the programme provides practical guidance and advice on taking on a management role, coupled with subject- or pastoral-specific tutoring (769kb, 2 pages): open to new leaders within London schools.
