We have been working with groups of network members on a variety of bespoke activities.
We are currently exploring the issues for which a network of headteachers of schools that have co-located children’s centres could offer peer support. We are also interested to hear about the networks that you are part of, especially if you are willing to share your learning or would like to invite others to contribute. Please contact us to share your experiences of either issue.
We would like to introduce Rhonda Moore and Dave Smith, our new regional leaders for the South West.
Spring term 2009 sees two connected events in your region designed to help you lead, in partnership with others, increased and improved engagement with ECM, to achieve the aims of the Children’s Plan and deliver great results. We welcome leaders from both school and children’s centre settings and would recommend attendance at both events in order to maximise learning outcomes. Find out more and register.
School support service VT Four S is running a second half-day event in their Leadership Series. The event is being held on 16 October at the Royal Festival Hall, London, and is open to all headteachers in the South East. The event is entitled 'Leading and managing diversity' and provides the opportunity to challenge, debate and consider the crucial role of the education leader in managing a diverse environment. Find out more information and register.
If you are engaged in ECM in your school or local authority and would like to link to NCSL’s own ECM advocates in your region, please contact Cathy Higgins at Oxley Park Primary School or Anne Bunce at Oakfield First School.
NCSL has appointed SBM advocates to operate within the nine government regions. Their remit is to raise awareness of the SBM profession, promote avenues for career progression and demonstrate how the role improves school effectiveness. If you are a SBM and would like to link with other SBMs in your region, please contact kerry.brimfield@ncsl.org.uk.
We are still looking to appoint two advocates for the London and South East regions. If you are aware of SBMs in these areas that would be excellent candidates for this role, please email sbm@ncsl.org.uk.
We are currently developing three steering/stewardship groups, one of which is a stewardship group for London, which will represent as many London local authorities as possible. If you’d like to be involved or find out more, please contact Sue Thackeray.
