As detailed in our corporate plan in November 2005, NCSL is moving to commissioning the development and delivery of leadership programmes so that school leaders can have more flexible and personalised leadership development opportunities, adapted to their contexts and offered by the very best providers.
With commissioning, we will enable and encourage providers to be more creative and innovative and to use their own methodologies to achieve the required outcome. Our focus will switch from delivery to strategic direction and quality assurance.
Through commissioning we will be asking providers to build and deliver programmes that respond in a more personal and targeted way to the different needs of school leaders and schools across the country.
