Programme structure

Leadership Pathways is a blended learning programme designed around the principle of personalisation. Participants will have access to the online materials, the orientation and three core days, the routemap (learning needs analysis) and a choice of two from four skills workshops. Different models of engagement will become available in due course. Completion criteria for participants can be seen below .

Programme features

• Online programme registration and orientation. An online orientation unit is now available.
• Support, guidance and facilitation for coach and participant by a leadership mentor.
• Coaching and support for coaches. See the coach role description and person specification and guidance for schools in the selection of coaches for more information.
• Initial routemap (learning needs analysis), revisited towards the end of the programme.
• Three one-day core face-to-face sessions. More information about the core sessions (21kb, 1 page).
• Continual learning and support through active regional online communities.
• Practice visits to other schools.
• Four optional areas of online learning:
  • resourcing change
  • extending the community of learners
  • leading learning and teaching
  • stepping up to leadership

• Choice of up to two face-to-face optional skill workshops designed around key leadership skills which will supplement the online learning, from the following four:
  • effective influencing
  • leading high performance teams
  • dealing with challenging people
  • creative problem solving

• The potential to develop and incorporate new contextual units where there is a need to be met.
