2. Will Fast Track teachers have access to the programme?

Yes. Applicants do need to have Qualified Teacher Status.
4. Does my headteacher have to recommend me for this programme?

5. Currently I do not work in a school. Can my application be considered?
No. Unfortunately, we cannot consider your application in this case.

7. Are there any pre-requisite programmes I must complete before I can do the programme?
You must have, or be working towards, the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH).
8. Is New Visions a pre-requisite for any other programmes?

10. How ICT literate do I need to be?

2. Can I access a printable copy of the application form?
No. Unfortunately, a printable copy is not available.
3. Can I submit a hard copy application instead of an online application?
EHP participants will not be able to submit a hard copy application. Applications from independent schools are to be directed to the relevant regional provider.
4. Does this programme accept applications from both groups and individuals?
We accept applications on an individual basis only.
EHP participants who enrol on New Visions via the Learning Gateway will only see available sessions allocated by their regional provider.
6. When does the next application round begin?
The application round for Cohort 10 is still open for enrolments in some areas and the programme is due to begin in February/March 2008. Cohort 11 will be open in September/October 2008 and enrolment will begin after Easter.
7. When is the deadline for submitting applications to the programme?
The application round closes either when the groups are full or three weeks before the programme start date.
8. What happens if I miss the deadline?
If you miss the deadline you will need to apply for the next cohort once it becomes available on the Learning Gateway.
9. Is the number of places available restricted and, if so, is there a waiting list?
Regional providers allocate a number of places per group. There is no waiting list but you may contact your regional provider to discuss your interest.
10. I would like to work with a colleague headteacher. Is this possible?
If you and your colleague share the same regional provider and meet the eligibility requirements for New Visions, you may enrol for the same group providing places are available.
11. Will there be any briefings or taster sessions for the programme prior to applying?
There may be sessions in some cases, but you will need to contact your provider for further information.
1. What is the overall time commitment for this programme?
You will be out of school for 6 days over a 10-month period. The first two days will be a residential. The programme also requires some online, pre-reading before each of the programme days, and some private study while in school.
2. How long is the programme? How many residential days are there?
New Visions is a 6-day programme over a 10-month period. The first two days will be a residential and the following four will be individual face-to-face sessions.
3. Do I have to attend all sessions?
It is strongly recommended that you start at the beginning of the programme, remaining with the group you enrolled with. If under any circumstance you are unable to attend, please contact your regional provider to inform them of your absence.
4. What support is available throughout the programme?
Facilitation, peer support and administration from your provider.
5. Are there any assessed activities or pieces of work?
No.
6. What other programmes, events or resources are available to me in this area?
New Visions materials, online tools and pre-reading.
1. How do I access the online communities and materials?
You will have access to talk2learn in the Learning Gateway, where online communities and materials will be available.
2. Do I have to use online facilities?
Yes, this will be part of the programme.
3. Where can I get technical support for problems with online materials/access?

4. Will the facilitators be there to help me online?
Yes, facilitators will be available for support.
5. Do I have to pay for materials?
There is no extra cost for the materials used on the programme as they are part of the package.

1. How much does this programme cost?
New Visions is fully funded for EHP participants. For information about costs for independent heads, please contact your regional provider.

3. Can I claim for the costs of supply cover and travel when I attend the programme?
EHP participants who are from a small school (under 100 pupils) will be awarded £500, which will cover the cost of supply cover. Travel will not be refunded. Accommodation at the residential is part of the programme cost.
4. What is the policy for charging, supply cover and travel for small schools?
EHP participants who are from a small school (under 100 pupils) will automatically receive a £500 grant upon registration for EHP. Previous Headteacher Induction Programme (HIP) participants from a small school may claim for supply cover only, through completion of our small schools policy and claim form.
1. Can the programme contribute any credit towards an MA?
No.
2. Will I receive any form of accreditation for completing the programme?
No, but it will be recognised on your learning record in your EHP account on the Learning Gateway.
3. How can I become a facilitator on the programme?
