The community of Fast Track teachers and other professionals has proved to be an integral aspect of the programme. With colleagues working together to help each other, this is all about sharing ideas, views and learning.
This learning environment is a key part of the programme's professional development provision. It's a unique online space for sharing ideas, knowledge and good practice among Fast Track teachers. It's this collaborative element that makes talk2learn a powerful tool for enhancing learning and the understanding of wider leadership issues.
The Fast Track community offers forums, hotseats and e-learning activities. It also gives Fast Track teachers the ability to initiate debates with like-minded colleagues and set up Wider School Focus discussions where best practice ideas can be shared.
talk2learn provides a platform where teachers can directly support their own learning and that of their peers. All Fast Track teachers are encouraged to actively engage with this form of learning.
Residential training courses provide a great opportunity to meet other Fast Track teachers face-to-face, while spin-off, informal networking groups are encouraged and offer a chance to exchange ideas and build a strong sense of community.
The Leadership Network is another opportunity to network online. With around 2,000 members, this NCSL initiative helps senior leaders connect and will give first-hand exposure to best practice. To find out more, visit www.ncsl.org.uk/leadershipnetwork.
