Over the next few years the number of headteachers retiring will increase, and the challenge of recruiting a new one will become harder. Success depends upon schools, local areas and national bodies acting purposefully together to ensure that there are enough capable leaders to lead our schools into the future.
We will look at how local areas and partnerships across schools can:
The day will draw upon research in local succession planning activity. Contributions will come from local areas, Dioceses and National Succession Consultants and schools who have worked with NCSL as part of our succession planning programme.
Practical issues and challenges will be explored and we will draw on the expertise of participants to plan the next steps for your area or group of schools.
