Learning from best practice worldwide

By building links with colleagues and leadership centres worldwide, NCSL is learning from the best and becoming a world-class force for leadership development. We are taking a lead role in building a sustainable global network for learning about school leadership.

NCSL Corporate Plan 2003-7

NCSL aims to:

Visiting scholars

Through an ongoing programme, visiting scholars and practitioners act as critical friends to the College and undertake specific leadership development activities.

International Leadership Centre Network (ILCN)

The aim of the International Leadership Centre Network is to improve links and communications between leadership centres internationally, with a view to sharing best practice and acting as critical friends. It also aims to explore the potential for collaborative links in research, international practitioner visits and international study visits. Go to the ILCN website

International Leadership in Education Research Network (ILERN)

ILERN brings together some of the world’s leading thinkers and writers on educational leadership to explore the main findings from work in this field. This project has been led by Professor Andy Hargeaves from the Lynch School of Education, Boston College. This research is scheduled to last three years, concluding in 2007, with the publication of a range of papers summarising its work.
