In search of excellence - exploring the impact of the school business manager
22-23 June, Manchester United Football Club
Achieving world class schools provided a unique opportunity for networking, showcasing good practice, participation in live debates and sharing practical advice. It was delivered by NCSL in collaboration with the Training and Development Agency for Schools.
The conference was attended by over 500 delegates and brought together school leaders (including business managers and headteachers), local authority and government representatives, governors, training providers and a number of overseas delegates, to consider the development and impact of school business managers globally.
The conference included:
- an evening networking reception, attended by over 300, delegates hosted by international partners, held on 22 June prior to the main conference
- a ministerial address by Rt Hon Vernon Coker MP - the new minister of state for Schools and Learners, giving his first keynote speech since taking office
- an inspirational keynote speech by Bill Strickland, social entrepreneur and extraordinary business and community leader, Pittsburgh USA
- a range of interactive and practical workshops
- an expert panel discussion forum involving key players within the school business management profession
